The mystique of the steek...

So I spent my day steeking my fair isle cardigan. I. Swear. To. God. I thought I'd have a heart attack when we started cutting. medium_dscf0011.jpg But miracle of miracles, it worked!!! And I started working on the button band... medium_dscf0022.jpg Here's a sneak peak at the fun twist inside of the button band... medium_dscf0023.jpg Obviously the other edge is still a WIP... medium_dscf0024.jpg but it should be done tomorrow! Yay me!
And here is a pic of my finally completed Jim Jones Kool-Aid sweater... medium_dscf0026.jpg Here's a close up of the ribbing... I love it! medium_dscf0028.jpg
Take a look at the cool loot that my SP sent!! Love the dog paper! Love the needles! Love it all! medium_dscf0012.jpg medium_dscf0019.jpg medium_dscf0015.3.jpg
And finally... The best Christmas gift--Mr. Wonderful found me the gift of all gifts!!! medium_dscf0002.jpg medium_dscf0003.3.jpg Some lovely weinerdog bling. Who knew such an item existed?? Leave it to him to locate it and wrap it up for me!!! What a keeper!

holy hiatus...

Greetings, all. I am finally ready to reenter the land of blog, after a month and a half hiatus. Wow. Time somehow managed to get away from me. But, I am back. And life looks a little different.
I'm not yet divorced. Thought this would happen by August, but it is a little more difficult to deal with rat bastard than it was when I was married to him. I can't wait for things to become final, because I am so ready to close this chapter and move on with my life. Because...
I'm in love. Like for real. It has been 2 months since I've met this man, and he has yet to upset me. He is respectful of me, kind, giving, and just perfect. He has 3 beautiful daughters, and is the best dad I've ever seen. I can't believe what he and his family add to my life.
As far as knitting... Still plugging away on my fair isle. Had a setback-- a little bit of a miscommunication led me to doing the wrong thing and having to rip back, but I am now working on the collar, so I'm in the home stretch. More later...
I've been making the world's ugliest slippers for the girls--my mom used to make them for me when I was a kid, and now the tradition continues. medium_dscf0014.jpg
Working on some wrist warmers in Noro Silk Garden, but I'm not sure how I feel about the colorway. May still rip them out...
Finally we are out for Christmas break. I can actually breathe.
